How would I go about sewing something onto a sweatshirt?
I have a plain navy blue sweatshirt. I wish to sew, in a simple design, some words onto the front.
Well, the easiest way to do this is to cut your letters out of patches (that you can buy from any material store) that have glue on one side.
Mark the form of your letters with tailor's chalk so it can be rubbed off after cutting.
Arrange the letters where you want them, and iron onto your sweatshirt following the instructions on the package.
THEN sew around the outside edges using a standard zig-zag stitch, set at 30 stitches per inch. (You can vary the width of the stitch from 1 mm to 5 mm.) I would use thread in the same colour as the lettering.
