ATTENTION: calling all indie kids. i need style help?
So in the last year or so i've discovered that i like 'indie' clothing and style. scarfs and skirts, cardigans and skinny jeans, ballet flats and amazing sunglasses. However. My wardrobe does not quite demonstrate this!
I wear Roxy sweatshirts, regular jeans, flip flops, and beach-y pull overs. I shop at Target, Kohl's and Buffalo Exchange. basically the style of every other So Cal girl around. Thus: what can I do to reveal this style that i have hidden inside of me? What can I add or subtract to achieve this?
Oh! I almost forgot. I am NOT skinny! So, that means that I can't really pull of some of the styles that I would like to {basically like the Urban Outfitters model}. Just warning you!

Well, I guess I want to be an Urban Outfitters model. i want to look sophisticated yet totally and utterly different. And i guess i just don't know how to do it....

If you run around dressed like an indie kid, you need to know there music. If you don't, I suggest you brush up on the music that they like and get into it, or you'll be called a poser by indie kids, as music is most important. Their clothing style doesn't matter to them like their music does.
Anyway, if anything, just throw on converse, put on a scarf, fake plastic jewelery(optional), shop at thrift stores, wear tight faded jeans (especially if you dont look good with skinny jeans), shirts with anmals, have a clear complexion, put on eyeliner, wear animals on your shirt, wear striped shirts, flannel t-shirts (loose), waistcoats/Cardigans, pointy cowboy boots, ankle boots or ballet flats, gvintage apparel eg. 80s jumpers, Mod dresses, retro tights and stockings, retro t-shirts.
